In California, the solstice is at 9:30 tonight. This marks the moment when the northern hemisphere is furthest from the sun and it results in the shortest day of the year. It is the time of year when the unmanifest and invisible are most open to your setting intentions for what you want to birth and grow this coming year.
Take some quiet time for reflection starting with the sunset at 4:47 PM (face west), the solstice at 9:30 PM (face north), and/or tomorrow morning’s sunrise at 6:53 AM (face east). Gather Heaven and Earth energy, breathe abdominally, and affirm mentally your intentions for the new year. Light some candles tonight (it is no coincidence that it is Hanukkah!)
My plan is to celebrate the sunset and sunrise at the satellite dish and the solstice on the roof.
Anytime you can find during these approximate 14 hours of darkness to reflect and celebrate is auspicious and powerful.
